Time Is Money! 时间和钱都可以用这些词!

大家都常常说：Time is money. 时间就是金钱。
 

 

You know what? 你知道吗？在英语中，就语言的运用来讲，时间确实就是金钱呢。很多动词都可以与这两个词搭配使用。

 

比如，你可以spend（花费）钱，也可以spend时间：

I spent over 100 yuan today.

我今天花了100多块。

 

I spent two days in Cambridge.

我在剑桥花了两天。

 

你可以afford（花得起）钱，也可以afford时间：

I can’t afford 800 yuan for a ticket.

我负担不起800元买一张门票。

 

I can’t afford more than a week off work.

我不能离开工作超过一个星期。

 

你可以save（节约）钱，也可以save时间：

I’ve been trying to save at least 500 yuan a month.

我在努力每个月存最少500元。

 

Let’s get a taxi. It’ll save at least 20 minutes.

我们打个车吧，能节省最少20分钟。

 

你可以waste（浪费）钱，也可以waste时间：

Why waste money on things you don't need?

为什么要浪费钱买你不需要的东西？

 

Hurry up, we’re wasting time.

快点, 我们在浪费时间。

 

你可以run out of（花光）钱，也可以runout of时间：

I’ve run out of cash.

我现金花光了。

 

We’ve run out of time.

我们没时间了。

 

美好的东西worth（值得花）钱，也worth时间：

My second-hand car is worth the money.

我的二手车钱花得很值。

 

This museum is definitely worth two whole day.

这个博物馆值得花两整天的时间。

 

你还可以spare（抽出、拨出、空出）钱或时间：

Can you spare me a few minutes?

你能抽几分钟时间给我吗？

 

Can you spare me 20 yuan for a cup of coffee?

你能给我20元让我喝杯咖啡吗？
